You are more than you think you are, says former pro wrestler Mike Kinney — you just have to find what makes you unique and use it to your advantage. For years Kinney "turned up" the parts of himself that made him special as he invented and perfected his wrestling persona, Cowboy Gator Magraw. In a talk equal parts funny and smart, he brings his wisdom from the ring to everyday life, sharing how we can all live more confidently and reach our full potential.

  2. *Good*

  3. AGAIN?
What’s with the TED talks consisting of one person talking about their personal experiences? Please go back to “ideas worth spreading” and bring state of the art research to the masses.

Honestly, TED has always been a bit facetious. And that’s not a knock. It’s something that just comes with the territory of being pop intellectualism.

    • Here’s an idea worth spreading: If we want to turn ourselves up to the maximum we can possibly be then we need to consider our thoughts. If we manifest the thought’s of love, kindness, patience, humility, joy, and peace towards all people equally, all the time, we are at the maximum goodness of humankind. These are things which we hear to do like instructions by thought, and then act on by doing these thoughts in visible means for others to experience. And if we do that, there is no need to worry about anything else in our lives…in the end, we will have fallen together like a perfect puzzle.

It cannot be argued against; the things we do are a direct result of the thoughts we follow. Research that.

Your exemple are extreme but i understand your point. But in this case his ideas are quite commum. Be the better version of yourself. I cant think that you cant separeate ideas and the people, and anedotes could reforce the message that he heave. Its a job for the viewer see what to do with it.

    • As soon as I see a Talk is going to be all about someone’s personal experiences, I am quick to shut it off!! Let’s talk about bigger ideas and change than one person’s personal experiences.

    • sanjuansteve – that’s what I’m sayin’ too.

  14. Loved the chair shot near the end

  15. It seems like TED was excpecying him to use the tv more, based on how frequently it panned out so the black screen was in the shot. Great TED talk though!

  16. The 7-year-old troll commenters must love this.

  17. I was not expecting this, the guy had a really good story and pretty damn inspiring one too. Keep doing your best Gator!
