*_Burnout occurs when your body and mind can no longer keep up with the tasks you demand of them. Don’t try to force yourself to do the impossible and be sure to leave time for de-stressing activities_*

    • That’s easy to say but it’s almost impossible to do. Im a part time student and currently im studying for my finals, the finals start on the 11th of june and I’ve been studying for them for more than a month now. The finals in my country are REALLY hard so i kinda have to study 24/7. I have 2 more books to finish but my body is actually falling apart, i always have a headache and my bones REALLY hurt me. I don’t have time to hang out with my friends and i can’t walk in a straight line because my headache has gotten so much worst. I really want to quit school but i can’t because im so close to finishing it. I just needed to tell this to someone.

    • +KHOKH 69 I feel you man, finals are coming way too fast and I’m falling apart. I’m going to get an extension into the summer so I can not burnout

    • +Whimbox good luck dude

+KHOKH 69 You’re going to make it, I believe in you!
There’s some evidence to suggest studying constantly *won’t* increase your test score. Your brain needs time to process information, which means breaking up study time into chunks and let your brain rest. Sleeping has a role in consolidating things you’ve learned, so it is also important.

    • +BaldingClamydia thanks, I’ll try to take some time off

  2. We don’t need any more one sided activists. So please don’t recover.

+Elias does it make you feel smart replying to an obvious strawman bot designed to make feminism look stupid?

    • Juliana Silva // 22nd May 2019 at 8:17 pm // Reply

+Steven Bills I’m not a bot, sweetheart. I really think males are a disease. Why do some males find it so hard to believe there are women who actually see you for what you really are? Why there is no one calling the OP “bot” and asking him why he thinks her activism is “one sided”? Should we listen to the male who beat the woman to death so he could explain his reasoning? Or maybe neighbors have a good reason to care about drums noise and ignore domestic violence? Do you know why I don’t assume every male who says something I don’t like is a bot? Because I know males are a disease. Feminism looks stupid when it doesn’t say it more often and clear.

    • Steven Bills // 22nd May 2019 at 8:39 pm // Reply

+Juliana Silva why would I need to call OP a bot when it’s likely you and him are the same person?

+Steven Bills You are not a bot. You are a very real stupid male.

  3. Gizmomaster // 22nd May 2019 at 6:09 pm // Reply

? Wait so you beat drums in an apartment complex to see how quickly someone would tell you to stop. Did you also experiment by having your artists make loud noises, scream, call for help, and make other domestic violence type noises and see how quickly people react? And then compare the reaction times?

Or did you just confirm your own beliefs by only testing what you already believe?

    • Charlotte Adams // 22nd May 2019 at 6:52 pm // Reply

It was 10pm and it took under 2 mins, I’m still awake and not in bed at 10pm & I take WAY longer than 2 mins to get up. Also, most cases of domestic abuse take place in the evenings, after people have come home from a long day at work and maybe had a drink or two. Not victim blaming, just saying that can raise abusive behaviours

+Gizmomaster Did you intentionally miss the point of the video?

    • Jay schmidt // 22nd May 2019 at 11:04 pm // Reply

+Juliana Silva If you’d ever actually fpund yourself in a Domestic Situation, you would know how debilitating it can be. She did acknowledge that the neighbor who came to complain about the noise paused at the door for some time, and telling somebody to not be an obnoxious assbag in the middle of the night playing drums is NOTHING compared to a domestic situation. Witnessing a man abuse a woman instills a very specific fear that comes with some amount of disbelief. Any person I’ve ever talked to that has intervened has had it roll back on them. Go find my post if you need better details, but at an early age I had to watch my mother be beaten, and it’s literally paralyzing. Especially when you know if you intervene, she will just get it worse later, and from every single account from somebody who has intervened, Stockholm Syndrome kicks in, and the female will join the abuser in attacking the good samaritan.

From the account we heard in this video, this “activist” had a friend play drums in the middle of the night, then after that didn’t expose Domestic Abuse as much as she liked, she turned to baking cupcakes to avoid “burning out.”

Color me unsympathetic in this regard, because I don’t appreciate naive little girls who spew “feel-good/guilt-trip” nonsense onto serious topics, then expect attention for giving up when their ideas don’t pan out.

This video was nothing more than a failed activist attempting to activise against people letting those with better, more experienced, critical thinking skills do the real activism.

Also, just to show anybody really paying attention that all she does is to make herself feel better, she, a Bulgarian, brought up Racial Inequality in America. Being a 3rd generation American Syrian-Refugee, I can tell you, they is plenty of Racial Equality here in the States. Much more than my family found anywhere else, so please foreigners, stick to changing your own countries, so that maybe one day us “Racially Unequal” might be able to return to where we came from.

+Tarathiel123 “How many cupcakes must we bake before people realize drums in the night is exactly the same as a Domestic Abuse Situation?” – said every naive little failed activist ever.

*Burnout* – when you feel that you give more than you get back and is always in the process of working.
Chillax, take a step back and breathe. The world will keep spinning, without you needing to spin yourself.

Thank you, great advice. I have passed this on to my right-wing activist group and it should help.

  6. This is a problem in many societies. This needs to be stopped, quickly.

    • Gizmomaster // 22nd May 2019 at 6:32 pm // Reply

What do you mean by quickly? That’s a little worrying, I agree domestic abuse is an horrible thing, but can it just be “stopped”? And what would we need to do to stop it? Imprison all first time domestic abusers for life? Ban them from the country? Make domestic abuse a capital punishment? If we kill all the domestic abusers that would solve the problem right?

    • Juliana Silva // 22nd May 2019 at 6:34 pm // Reply

4:50 Direct instruction in torture and sadism, under the pretense of “social justice”, “activism”, etc.

It’s ethically dubious, to say the least, and is probably downright reckless.

The title about burnout is quite misleading.
It is, however, a great talk on generating public engagement with an issue. Fascinating to see how creative people can be.
