Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.

    • Tell that to people trapped in abusive relationships, oppressive governments, or imprisoned. Tell slaves, including women in patriarchal societies, that courage will expand their life. Positivism is a luxury of people with privilege.

  4. Congratulations I am an atheist as well,, I understand 10 languages but I believe nothing but science philosophie. Nothing is Real it’s all illusion time past future doesn’t exist.

Fantastic talk and relevant to everyone at some point in their life.

Also, the South African accent has to be one of the most beautiful in the world. It makes what is a truly weighty topic sound soothing.

  8. this video starts and i’m thinking “i’ve watched this before… but where…?” turns out i’m thinking about cameron’s Avatar xD the whole “i see you” thing ^^

*Diversity isn’t just people, it’s also what’s inside people.* Great talk! Thank you so much!

    • sayalee Thombare The problem is you need singularity to make this thing stable, but singularity will also defeat the purpose of having identities. That’s deadlock and we should focus on that issue tbh.

Kerwin C Of course! That’s right! Singularity can come with choice, it will just require a lot of time and patience!

  13. “Courage is fear walking” That is something I’m forever going to call it now:) And y new greeting it now “Sawubona” – “I see you, and by seeing you, I bring you into being.” 🙂 🙂
    Spectacular speech!

  14. “Courage is not the absence of fear, courage is fear walking”

  15. So the ice caps are melting cos of our unsustainable emotions? I wonder what caused the end of the ice age? Must have been a mamoth denial.

  17. I think that’s what our society is missing !!!! EI , Emotional intelligence. When you are not feeling right way you can not make proper change and take proper action. You stay stuck !! But once you allow yourself to feel the good feelings you want to feel then we can take the next step !!

There is emotion and then there is Feeling.

    • Michael Epstein // 20th February 2018 at 6:29 pm // Reply

      See what happens.
First there is Feeling: being in direct contact with everyone and everything, without any sense of division, separation or distance, in each and every moment in daily life.
Then in a split second, the I, the me, the self, which is the invention of the past conditioning of the brain, comes in and limits, distorts, colors and shapes the Feeling, which then becomes emotion.

    • Michael Epstein // 20th February 2018 at 6:29 pm // Reply

Emotion is the limitation and distortion of Feeling.
Emotion is the movement away from Feeling.

Emotion is the old. Feeling is the New.
Emotion is the past. Feeling is Now.
Emotion is time. Feeling has no time.
Emotion is a reaction. Feeling is a response.

Without Feeling, there is no ExperiencING.
Without Feeling, there is no Joy/Happiness.
Without Feeling, there is no Love or Wisdom.

It is the capacity to Feel that makes us Human.

Total Freedom from emotions is the beginning of Feeling.

    • I’m feeling emotional
