The high cost of living in California has caused a homeless crisis for low income families. In Orange County, Sheriff's deputies and county workers are ordering hundreds of homeless people living in tents near the Santa Ana River to vacate or risk arrest. According to MoveLA Los Angeles County renters need to earn $8,330 a month or $48.06 an hour to afford median asking rents.
Democrat social programs are in place for illegal immigrants and refugees to offer welfare and low income housing but homeless Americans in California are being left behind and neglected.
Homeless shelters offered are abandoned buildings were homeless people are expected to sleep on cement with a thick pad in tightly packed rows doing the middle of a Hepatitis outbreak. Most homeless Americans refuse the shelters and prefer to sleep outside or in tents.
The California judicial system has set up homeless court where Homeless people are ticketed and fined for being homeless or camping. Then when they fail to pay or show up in court warrants are issued for their arrest. Then police come to the tent cities and arrest the homeless people for their warrants and confiscate their belongings. The public resources and money spent on the homeless population treating them as a law enforcement issue greatly outweighs the cost the state would spend by treating them as a social issue.

I feel bad too. The illegal alians have been frauding the system for years but our government allows them to do it. They all get food stamps or a food card then they live with a BIG family of illegal alians that have little children and they are on welfare and food stamps. And the men go out and work where ever for cash and a lot of the time the illegal alians will work for way less money than the Americans that live here. So that Americans job is gone lost forever to some person who came to our country illegally. Are government allows this. Look how FAT most of the illegal alians are. Look at the illegal alians when they are at the grocery store. The shopping cart is full. Over full. Then they pay for it with a food card and go out to the parking lot and put all them groceries into a nice SUV or something nice that even working folks cannot afford. Unless the working folks jack the system the same way that the illegal alians do. Fraud pays. If you can’t beat em. Then join em I guess.

Try one of the hiring firms that are popping up everywhere like Elwood staffing. They take a small cut of your pay for about six months but it can help get you back on your feet. You are a man so you are not in any protected class like women, Mexicans, etc. so your not going to get help from the state. Also trying leaving Michigan for warmer climates. I’m a single dad also and just know the courts are biased. Your ex must have been a real loser to be a female and lose custody of her kid. You need to bail asap for a fresh start. First thing is hit one of the hiring agencies. Good luck

This was very meaningful on-the-street reporting; illuminating degreed people scraping, living in tents with no plumbing. Qualified fellow Americans who have worked many years are living in tents. California used to do this to all those of Japanese descent after WW II. Now it is American to be homeless and in economic crisis. Those in Orange County living in houses should be ashamed they have not organized to do something, showing they care for fellow Americans. Screw Hollywood. Since jerry Brown made the whole state of California a sanctuary state it’s getting so messed up over there!!! I was born and raised in Northern California and I’m so glad I moved out of the state 5 years ago and went to Georgia I’m a lot happier now but it’s even getting worse since I’ve moved just crazy cost of living and taxes just goes up and up so I feel those people’s pain it’s just Fucked up hopefully something can be done about it though!!!!!

I live in California. Where straws and plastic bags are Illegal. But Illegals aren’t.
We pay over a dollar more for EACH gallon of gas, than any other state.
But the traffic is so bad, you can’t drive anywhere.
They told us to conserve water, because of the drought.
Then they told us that we did such a good job of conserving water , that they had to RAISE the price of water to make up for it.
They raised the price of Car registration by $175 a year. To go along with our drivers license, drivers insurance, and car smogging fees,
So they can protect people that don’t buy any of those things.
Everyone in the State complains about other states using Coal for power.
Meanwhile, every day I drive by a decommissioned Nuclear Power plant, that is along a fault line, right on the beach, in a Tsunami zone, that was closed because it was unstoppably LEAKING RADIATION!!!
And it will cost BILLIONS of dollars to tear down.
Just like it will cost BILLIONS to build giant stadiums for dying NFL Teams that we stole from other places. So they could come HERE and pay ZERO taxes.
And like the billion dollars Orange County spent on an Old Airforce base that was donated to them. It was a huge completely flat field with nothing on it.
And now $1 Billion dollars later….it’s a completely flat PARK with nothing on it.
Or the SUPER TRAIN to San Francisco which is already $15 Billion behind, and they haven’t even settled on the route yet. Their own estimates , are that no matter what, the Train will ALWAYS lose money. Always.
So yeah.
I love California.
But I feel like we are in a abusive relationship.
