super good approach for beginners. Thank you. And What about when we go to the next step and put the back heel on the ground? I feel that on my tighter side buttock are going to far to the side…
Great
Thanks Kino. I struggle with posture and this explanation really helps! :))
ta,ta.happy every day t you.
very tough on maintaining this posture and the hand reaching on the floor seems to be impossible..
Your explanations are always clear and I enjoy your channel, however…. Please, a note to the genuine beginners out there…..this is not a beginner posture! there is no way a beginner could find the range.. Use a Iyengar yoga brick to start other wise you will be straining and pulling back muscles, or popping discs!!
Hi Kino! Thank u 4 another great video. With Anusara there’s a lot of inner spiral / outer spiral directives in terms of what is happening with the thigh muscles, so with Ashtanga I get confused about the alignment technicalities. When you started the posture, you inner spiraled to get your shoulder over your outer thigh. Once you go into the full posture and lift your knee and rotate the chest, do you tuck the tailbone on that bent knee side and outer rotate the thigh? xo S
when you said “beginner ” I thought I can do that? until I tried. I am a stiff old goat!
Amazing! I was just looking at this posture in the book — pp. 76-77. These videos are wonderful. Thank you, Kino!
so useful, this has brought back all the great info you gave in the twists workshop in Copenhagen, I’m now finally able to push my hand into the ground and straighten leg..even if my heel is off the ground 🙂 Thanks!!
That’s awesome!! Keep practicing 🙂
Wow this is actually really hard already!! I’m working my way up 🙂 I like these short instructional videos, especially for beginners poses. Very helpful!
