The Truth About Masks | COVID-19 Facts From The Frontline | Tony Robbins

Tony Robbins speaks to Senator Scott Jensen, a family physician from Minnesota, to uncover the truth about masks. After initially discouraging the public to wear masks, the CDC now recommends the use of cloth face coverings to slow the spread of coronavirus. But are they really effective? According to Senator Jensen, the answer is no.

This interview is part of the “Facts From the Frontlines” episode of #TheTonyRobbinsPodcast, where Tony uncovers the truth about coronavirus with a 7-person panel of highly qualified researchers, an experienced epidemiologist, a Nobel Laureate, and M.D.s testing and treating patients on the frontlines. Together, they reveal the evidence-based research that has come to light in the last two months.

This is one of the most important interviews Tony has ever conducted. It reminds us to stand guard at the door of our mind, practice discernment when determining trustworthy sources, and think critically in order to stay flexible and maintain the ability to pivot in light of new information – especially when lives depend on it.

23 Comments on The Truth About Masks | COVID-19 Facts From The Frontline | Tony Robbins

  1. I lost my job due the pandemic, so I made a YouTube channel. After 23 days and 23 videos I have made over 640 subscribers!!!!! Don’t give up!!!!

  2. Personal responsibility is KEY! Do what you want, but take ownership of what you do and how you interact with people!!!

  3. I guess I thought this was already common knowledge. It’s my understanding that we wear masks to limit the distance a droplet from a sneeze or cough, can travel in the air. Not to protect us from airborne particles. This is why they have been pushing social distancing along with wearing a mask, no?

  4. I’m disappointed that you Mr. Robbins are spreading information that suggests to people that they don’t need to or shouldn’t have to wear masks. I thought you were better than this.

    • He didn’t provide all the information. This 1 minute clip is lacking a bunch of context. Like the fact that virus microbes are spread by water droplets from talking, sneezing, coughing and pollution, which are huge; they don’t hang out as individual microbes most of the time.

  5. My question is…. So if we wear a cloth mask, and droplets of Covid get onto the cloth mask… Are we not just breathing in the virus? What about face shields? So if the mask cannot break down the covid particles, is it just sitting on top of the mask and we’re breathing it in? And I’ve been reading about very high survival rates.

  6. Studies demonstrate that basic surgical masks reduce the risk of contracting a respiratory infection by 70% to 80%. This guy is a doctor, not a scientist. There is a difference, obviously. He can conjecture all he wants about the size of viral particles, but the fact is that wearing even a basic surgical mask dramatically reduces your chances of getting sick. Viral particles are usually attached to water molecules, pollution in the air, etc. They’re rarely floating around as individual virions. Individual virions are rarely enough to cause an illness. This guy should learn the term “infectious dose”, which means you generally need to inhale thousands or tens of thousands of virus particles to contract an illness. So much for the truth about wearing a mask. Checking a few studies would have prevented him from embarrassing himself.

  7. It’s not about actually doing anything… it’s about 1. feeling like you’re doing something and 2. controlling other people

  8. This assessment is factually incorrect. You wear the mask to prevent transmission to others. The masks block most of the larger size droplets (virus particles are transmitted in droplets) when you breathe out. If everyone wears one, then the infected person is much less likely to infect others. It is sound science. There are numerous studies behind this as well.
If you are counting on your mask to protect you, then yes, the effectiveness is low. But it is still positive.
This clip is not the truth, it is a horribly short sited misrepresentation of the rationale and science behind masks.

    • Yes I agree, it’s missing a large part of the story. And just because a doctor is saying it doesn’t mean we take it as blind truth. Have to see what many doctors are saying the context behind it.

  9. It seems like it makes sense to wear one not to spray yourself all over the place and to contain possible microbes you may be carrying since they tend to clump up. But wearing them for protection purposes is not effective. Still, it seems useful to wear some medical grade masks if you have access to them and the medics have enough. It’s good to contain everything with you as much as you can.

  10. Wrong at the beginning.
Virus does not hang in the air by themself. They attached to particles in the air which are much larger than 0.3 micron sizes. So N95 for particles with 95% efficiency has higher efficiency on virus.

  11. Dangerous “advice” coming from this doctor. Never even mentioned “viral load .” How about he volunteer to let a covid-19 infected person shedding billions of viruses sneeze in his face….the viral load would be like getting hit with a sledge hammer….vs a masked infected person. Viral load is very important to how sick a person gets, as well as the risk of it getting into the deep lung tissue. coughing, sneezing…yelling etc…puts droplet fomite contamination all over the place for others to touch, or if close enough, get directly into their mucous membranes. Very dangerous advice from this doctor indeed….he should apply for a job at the WHO lol
