The 5 STEPS To Reduce BRAIN INFLAMMATION Today! | Mark Hyman

Get my top tips for optimal health and vitality:

For years, the brain was thought to be separate from the lymphatic system. But now we know that’s not true, and that the brain has an incredible connection to the immune system, called the glymphatic system, that helps the brain detoxify and receive valuable nutrients. This brain-immune connection creates a new framework for treating brain disease and immune system dysfunctions like autoimmunity.

In this video, Dr. Hyman discusses inflammation in the brain with his colleague at The UltraWellness Center, Dr. Todd LePine. They discuss the many factors that can drive neuroinflammation, the range of conditions that are linked to brain inflammation, and how they work with patients to cool this inflammation.

    • Interviewing and conversing are really two different interactions. This seems the latter. I too find it irritating when the host speaks more than the guest; who is there to be heard. But, point taken, learning is still learning.

    • @Susan Smith It’s too bad, because he has excellent speakers on the show who know so much. I know it is a discussion format, but the host does not let the guests speak fully, he always adds in too much information, and ends up speaking for most of the session. What a pity. I am now unsubscribed……

    • @Troy carpenter Right. I am thrilled that Dr Hyman continues his passionate work after all he has experienced with toxins, etc. What if Stevie Wonder had given up because he was blind? Or many others that continued forward after adversity.
Most would give up if there speech were not perfect; I have a Speech issue due to my illness; but continue to attempt communicating, because there was a time I could not finish a sentence; it was that bad. And I am a talker! We all live with different challenges throughout our lifetimes. Let’s hope that others are compassionate & still accept our faults & offer help & understanding, rather than criticism when they are a bit uncomfortable. It could be that the d as hoe will be on the other foot, down the road…nasty fall, car accident, genetic illness, we never know. “Pay it Forward” on the good stuff.

  1. My mom has many health issues like she’s had a stroke 3 years ago she has high blood pressure a fib kidney stone she has a lot of forgiveness short term she’s had many ct scans and pet scan pet scan shown slow moving dementia can that be reversed or slowed down by food the doctor said that she has to move but she doesn’t because she can’t breathe and doctor said to keep her mind active by reading but she doesn’t at all I also think that she is depressed

  2. Bummer that the first part of this was repeat. Great info but would be good if the 5 Steps were recapped as outline as advertised on thumbnail.

  3. I’m a migraine patient and my neurologist never asks about anything to do with my diet, sleep, or lifestyle. I got off Venlafaxine about a week and a half ago because it was making things worse, and she was furious with me for wanting to go for lifestyle changes and made it out to be impossible. Also it took me 3 years to get them to do an MRI and so even basic labs. After years of complaining they finally checked my hormones and found high DHEA-S and testosterone which finally gave me a PCOS diagnosis. I don’t have much choice in medicine because I’m in the military so they are generous with medications and stingy as hell with anything else

    • @Bully Maguire yeah I’ve been doing some of that and it seems to be making a difference. I also cut out meat because it’s androgenic and so far I think that’s helping? My diet isn’t the greatest but I’m good about avoiding processed or fast food and alcohol. I do need to add more vegetables and lean protein and probably cut out more of the dairy

    • @Fred Turner hm, I didn’t know that about peanuts. I’ll probably experiment with cutting them out for awhile too. Thanks!

    • @Troy carpenter I have identified tomatoes and apples as trigger foods for certain, I’m hopeful strawberries aren’t a contributer, I eat those a ton! Thanks!

  4. I don’t believe the second interviewee was introduced but he mentioned that you should only take vitamin D3 which is animal based. I take a D3 that is Lichen based. Is there an opinion on this as a source?

  5. What about k2? So what kind of magnesia, there is some many kinds! every kind I have tried makes me have leg cramps terrible during the night.

    • Have you tried Magnesium Orotate plus Mg baths. I’ve found that the best. No other Mg supplement type did anything for me.

  6. “ look after your liver ,feed your gut “ ,avoid flour, vegetable oils ,do time restricted feeding ,get uvb rays ,maintain high levels of 25 hydroxyl vit D ,sleep ,go into nature . Readjust and repeat ! Be your own clinician
