Seriously, tech improvement like this is in itself a good enough reason to keep living.
A good enough reason to keep on living? That sounds really sad. Unless you’re an AI brain waiting for a body that’s indistinguishable from us real humans. I can see how a brain being stuck in a big clunky clumsy steel body could be a reason for it not wanting to live anymore, that would really suck. Otherwise, I do not need advancements in technology to want keep on living.
What are the odds that we see this future with robots and stuff when the rate at which we are destroying the environment, is increasing day by day.
Perhaps we can build robots to plant trees, and do farm work, and clean up places no human wants to go, I would invest in that đ

My thought as well. I don’t know what the current is, but I guess it would take a lot to lift a heavy object.
I’d be interested to see what they could achieve, if they made a complex nano structure of these things, and replaced the materials. There’s probably some forgotten material sitting on a shelf somewhere, waiting for someone to realise its robotic muscle potential.

I used to play a lot with air muscles – think of a bicycle inter-tube wrapped with snakeskin (often used over cable bundles). As the tube inflated, the snakeskin would get fatter and shorter (contraction), and when the air was released, the tube and skin would be stretched back out.
The big problems were that each muscle needed a counter muscle (or a spring release) because it wouldn’t totally expand on its own when the air was released. Repeatability was also a big problem, as it was difficult to accurately tell exactly how contracted a muscle was. Also, each muscle cluster needed to be shrouded in something strong because if any of the tubes was punctured, it would obviously stop working.
On that note, it needed a very powerful air pump and compression tank to keep up with the demand, which was loud and power hungry. I’m glad work has continued in this field, and I’m excited for what the future may bring!

The most simple solutions are the most elegant. Simple concept, great potential, keep up the good work.
I don’t have a problem with this amazing future tech. I do however, have a huge problem with world power players who have access to this technology in any capacity. Capable scientists that know these demonic power people have access prove positive that most scientists are poster people for absolute stupidity.
