In some ways it is a good thing that Trump has highlighted the poor record of news organizations in their use of unproven news stories. In particular one hopes that the incessant lies being used by the right to support their agenda will also be curbed by his highlighting of the problem. Immigrants, Muslims and poor people are not the main problem facing society today. Climate change, wealth inequality, the war on drugs, corporate capture of politics and gun crime are far more pressing problems to name just a few.
