stephen mallinson the coup got rid of alot of pol. opposition, then after the vote in april there was another purge. Those who voted against the referendum were jailed and lost their jobs. I think the reason erdogan has been distancing himself from nato and the west is because he knows he will be kicked out of nato when he declares a caliphate.
