J Freid Yes, wait until he actually does something though before you lose support in him. There have been numerous times in the past – the syria strike, healthcare, DACA, the tax bill etc. where everyone was just SO SURE that he was about to betray his base and/or the constitution and he didn’t. Until he acts and does more than talk, then don’t assume that this is different right off the bat. I do not agree with what he said but until he acts then it’s kind of jumping the gun to start unsubscribing from things.

I’m all for the second amendment but that conference didn’t look good for the second amendment. No common sense was used what so ever. It would just be easy to look back in history and notice the less gun control we had the less mass shooting s we had. I saw not one person in that room offer to give up their security detail. What they take from us they should take from themselves.

Seems like a real life movie and plausible concerns. Keep in mind some regular citizens are already suffering from bad courts or biased judges, corrupt officials, over the top political correctness, wrongful convictions, being black balled (e.g. conservative at Google getting fired, and many others); not enough suitable employment; vast homelessness in certain areas; bad local govts. (e.g. Flint, MI); pressure to worship celebrities; horrible mishandling of cases in family courts; huge crime waves in certain areas like areas with heavy gun restrictions; and so on.

I’m a Libertarian/Constitutionalist & I’m all MAGA/patriot & I don’t see a problem with this & if he meets the Dems part way on increasing gun safety. Whether they hate him or not, he’s the president of all of us & Trump makes deals. As long as he doesn’t have authorities going door to door collecting guns, I’m voting for him again. And I’m also ok with them taking guns away from psychos & those with ties to terrorism or gangs. But they better be clear about their definition of a psycho/terrorist & not go after people just because they’re on meds or just because they have a relative in Iran. Ban bump stocks. Who cares. They’re hardly even used.

Troy Thomas I agree but I’m not sure this bill is the best approach because many of the laws are already in place – it’s the law keepers who screw it up. I smell bill trickery & I’m sure Trump’s NRA/2nd Amendment-schooled attorneys will have many notes & requested revisions in the margin. I bet Trump only bends on the bump stocks.

The 2nd amendment has already been sliced & diced by the Supreme Court & State’s rulings with things like background checks, banned weapons, etc. I mean I can’t even own a taser gun in NJ! This is just more slicing & dicing. I don’t think they will ever stop chopping away at it until it no longer exists. We just have to keep awake & put our foot down when the red line is crossed. But what they’re doing is making it harder and harder to determine where that red line is. Especially with false flag attacks.

I think he meant it the way it’s usually carried out – cop suspects or witnesses violence (gets quick house warrant if needed), seizes guns, arrests if necessary, then it gets hammered & battled out in court later. Guns released if person is innocent. Isn’t that how it’s usually done? I actually thought he stated the obvious. I didn’t read any loss of rights into his statement but apparently I’m stupid & many on the right did!! Maybe he chose the wrong words “due process” or maybe he doesn’t realize what he said excludes Miranda rights. I’m not a lawyer. But I do think everyone should calm down & trust him even if he garbled the words. He’s not going to console hysterical parents & then turn around and do an Arnold – “NO DEAL!”
