Earth’s atmosphere bends light so unfortunately line of sight is largely misleading.
Star trails are all you need to prove the Earth is a globe, the Northern Hemisphere has star trails that appear to move in a clockwise direction and in the Southern Hemisphere they move counter clockwise, at the equator they move in a linear direction with the two circles of the north and south visible as you would expect if you are observing them from a rotating globe. The constellations are different with the Southern Cross in the south and Polaris in the north. Anyone can verify this for themselves.
