Nearly every major channel either has Patreon, selling a product, memberships, go fund me or something of that ilk. I do find it obnoxious sometimes but that’s how youtube contribution is these days.
If it were up to yt all $ would get funneled to them, somehow. And all the views would get put on the wrong videos. And then they would recommend videos that are based on their agenda, rather than what you like to watch.
