In the absence of governmental “justice”, market actors would require some form of protection from damages caused by others. This protection would likely take the form of private DROs (or Dispute Resolution Organizations), which ultimately does act as a type of insurance.
I am not going to go into a lengthy explanation here, as the concept has already been very well fleshed out by others. However, if you break something in someone’s store, renege on a debt, or cause other sorts of damage (including child molestation), your insurance/credit score drops and it becomes more difficult to transact with the majority of society. Markets are truly incredible organic organizational structures and a shift to a DRO model would make restitutive rather than punitive justice into a very easily actionable reality.
That said, we’re not talking about “corporations” in the current sense – although the most efficiently and successful of the DROs might obviously become very large. Governmentally authorized modern corporations are a legal fiction designed to *prevent* justice through the shielding of their principals via fraudulent “personhood”. Entrepreneurial organizations in a free market would have no such legitimized protections. Anyways, this has all been addressed elsewhere and is a fascinating innovation compared to modern “justice”. Definitely worth looking into.

Not “good” or “bad”. That’s too abstract and doesn’t really help. This is simply a question of determining liability and assessing damages. Psychotherapy and emotional damages have a determinable cost to whatever extent. If you’re covered for $1,000,000 in damages and incur only $500,000 then your insurance covers it – but your premiums go up. Ultimately, with continual increases in damages, one’s premiums may increase to the point of being priced out of the market. At this point one becomes uninsurable and can no longer transact with individuals and businesses that require insurance. Risk averse individuals (that’s most people) would only transact with the insured, while the highly risk tolerant might transact with the uninsured (at far higher prices, of course).
But, again, this has nothing to do with moral standards of “good” or “bad” per se. If someone crashes into your car, they need to restore the car to its original condition or replace it. If they do so, the “moral status” of the original accident is irrelevant. Justice has been reached.
Likewise, as it relates to a child molester who has made full restitution to his victims, chose to eliminate the possibility of future criminality via voluntary chemical castration, and who has become a productive and valuable member of society, the “moral status” of his past actions is not important to his *current* risk assessment. A castrato with a proven track record of restitution could be viewed as safe and no “defensive” violence could be legitimately directed towards him.

Also, as I mentioned in the interview, my grandmother was born in Jaffa, Palestine in 1923. Her father was born in Jerusalem. Her grandfather and great-grandfather (etc etcetera) we’re from Jerusalem as well. I am legally a Palestinian citizen and very familiar with the history and background of the region and the conflict currently surrounding it.
Still, I fail to see how it has anything to do with the Constitution or founding fathers of the United States. Likewise, it’s not clear what connection there is between that conflict and the abuses of statism engaged in by powerful actors throughout history and which continue today.
Furthermore, the appeal to the bogeyman of “Zionism” always seems to me a bit of a cop out. As I mentioned in the interview, we are all humans with the same power and capacities as any others. The only thing necessary to affect change in the world is the will and determination to do so. All else is irrelevant, and ascribing hidden power to secret cabals serves only to diminish one’s own true strength. You can be as powerful as anyone, if only you choose to be. Go out and be awesome! “The state” is specifically made up of people who could not compete through the market process and had to resort to violence to achieve their aims. As Isaac Asimov wrote, “violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.” Literally, the raison d’etre of the state is incompetence. It serves the incompetent, it is staffed by the incompetent, and it exists only to perpetuate incompetence. So go out and create something better. You have that power.

Just got to the part where Jeff said it would be hard to kill a pedophile. It wouldn’t there’s a handful of people in every community that would gladly do it. It’s not like just killing some random person.

Veronica Deevers: Much of “sex trafficking” would be resolved simply by removing the state from the equation.
That said, kidnapping and prostituting prisoners against their will would be an extremely dangerous and unprofitable venture in a free society. For one thing, it would be too costly to be competitive with the voluntary market. The expense in caging people and keeping them subdued (and healthy) enough to be useful would far exceed the costs involved when someone voluntarily chooses to engage in sex work, so much so that any incentives for sex trafficking pretty much wouldn’t exist. Secondly, it would be dangerous to even advertise one’s services because of bounties and other retributive risks (not to mention that potential kidnap victims might themselves be armed and dangerous in a society where personal defense is unregulated).
