  1. Definitely would enjoy seeing more of these videos of you out and about gathering footage. The beech trees are a wonderful colour at this time of year!

  2. Loved the Behind-the-scenes look and the quick glimpse into how you guys do things (and have fun in the process!) Keep ’em coming!

  3. The green and blue are so intense this time of year.

If I were capturing an aspect of nature it would be to some how record the delicate spectrum of sound that drizzle and light rain makes when it hits the window sill. Probably impossible to capture even with the highest quality audio equipment. It would just sound like electronic ‘noise’. Much recorded rain sound sounds like white noise. Very difficult to record I assume.

Another impossibility is the recording the silence of a bird of pray as it flies past and the muffled silence created by snow. The subtle sounds very difficult to record.

Another sound I enjoy is experienced when I meditate as I sit among a large group of people before an event is about to start. I am aware of the chattering of people which sounds like a river or stream (depending on the number of people) and when the event starts the sound vanishes and it is as though that river or stream has flowed into a deep still pond.

The sight of certain man made structures. Electric pylons ‘marching’ like giants across the landscape. Wind turbines and cranes standing like sentinels. The sound of a wind turbine. The sound of wind in trees. The sound of wind in anything! The gentle lapping of water against a wall. I once sat transfixed beside the river Thames in the middle of London on a calm summer day. The sound of the water lapping the steps was sublime. The sound of seaguls! The sight of airliner slipstream passing silently overhead. The sounds of ducks. The sight of fallen leaves dancing in an autumn wind. Bumble bees.

    Sights and sounds everywhere!

    • Yes, Mark, I know what you mean. And yes, some things are incredible hard to capture. Such as those you mentioned. There’s also intrusive noise, once we were out filming, just starting and a little plane came into view; it bimbled off and we started again,, then it came back, and this went on for ages, so we had to give up. It’s very hard to get the ‘silence’ behind the sounds unless you go somewhere completely remote

    • I notice that man made sounds that I otherwise don’t hear, or don’t bother me at all, become loud and irritating when I am trying to video something!
