  1. “You are responsible for your thoughts and your actions and the consequences of your actions. But who you are and what sent you into the world and what you’re here to do, that’s part of something bigger. And so for this, you must learn to follow and have confidence that the journey has many steps, and certainly day to day, you won’t really understand the journey. Sometimes you’ll gain a vision of it or have a sight of it, and then you lose sight of it. It’s like the distant mountain out there and you see it at certain high points. And then of course, you descend into the forest and you don’t see it anymore. And you journey a long time in that forest through valleys and over small hills and you don’t see the mountain and then all of a sudden, there it is again a little bit closer.

So you take the steps. And the steps are really important because the journey is what shapes and refines you. It’s almost like everything that isn’t you begins to fall away; either consciously you give it up or it just leaves you. And that sense of things leaving you is, I think, very important. But day to day, you know, we can’t put it all together and have it all make sense because we’re now working in concert with Higher Powers, and we only can see parts of it that are our parts, and not necessarily the bigger parts.”

  2. I am 7 min in and this is a PITA ad so far… not that there’s anything wrong with that per say, but.. this chick is just gonna run everyone who isn’t on her crusade the wrong way…

  3. How to not make enemies: don’t act like you’re morally superior to someone else. Farming is all these people know. Otherwise they would be poor. the farmer is not the enemy, poverty is. Not to mention without mass production of agriculture, we would not be able to feed poor people. And the statistic about carbon emissions is technically correct, but also skewed. Also by this woman going into the homes with recording devices probably resulted in the chicken company cutting his contract which more than likely resulted in him going bankrupt and losing everything.

    • Great points Sean. Did she mention growing pot? I worked in the inner city for a decade where she would only end up a crime statistic. Drugs have ruined the inner cities!

    • It showed in the video he gave up chicken farming and started growing “hemp” Also the speech doesn’t appear anti-agriculture… i have a feeling you don’t know the definition of agriculture; it seems to be about how this type of mass chicken/livestock farming is not only what most would consider immoral but is also bad for the environment.

    • Generic Gamer I’m speaking from the point of view of someone who literally lives on a commercial poultry farm. And My point is not to discredit an alternative farming method. But until you can provide farmers with the education and incentivized funds (that the department of agriculture divys out for farmers) needed, then you can’t blame them for trying to make a future for their family.

    • Solving Politics she mentioned growing hemp. Which is different than pot. Same plant, but the THC (compound that makes you “high”) is in infinitesimally small amounts.

  4. She said she turning enemies into allies, in fact she just destroyed whole industry (having animals smelling fresh air, I’m all for it, especially : they are in USA, got enormous land so they have the space for that, or at least just windows) to get behind her interests : stopping people who eat meat from being able to eat meat. Pretty hypocrite, you didn’t change those industry to take better care of animals (while still exploiting them for meat) , you still decide they were evil animals exploiters and HAD to stop because you said so and instead, sell pseudo meatplant. (probably as expensive for the customer as real meat because why not, capitalism : those people still want to eat plant looking like a burger, hot dog looking plant, etc instead of just eating those plants raw – like an animal eating grass)

    Really disappointed!

  5. ‘we all deserve compassionate food industry’ says the vegan stopping people from eating meat because she decides that for herself…

  6. The title is a bit of a stretch. She made sure she had her way first and put his livelihood at risk until a loose compromise was made. Did she find long term clients for him?

  7. Yelling over each other, demonizing and mud-slinging just made bigger enemies out of people and never solved anything. You’d think we would have realized that after thousands of years of doing exactly the same mistake over and over again…

  8. I wonder if she’s gonna be on TED 5 years from now talking about how she made like 1000 people 2 years sober or made 50000 people stop smoking. I apologize for sounding cynical but I feel I missed the ‘not my enemy’ bit completely and I’m not sure if it was even there

  9. So she basically says, if you see someone you don’t like force them to become someone you like.
Great advice, usually it is what people find to be narcissistic and acting from high tower.
