TV Channel 7 Australia, uses red, flashing breaking news. But delivers nothing new. Repeat adds end exaggerate fear triggering in people panic.
A lot of news sites do this. Even on other channels like 9 or 10 that are predominantly blue in colour will add BREAKING NEWS in red to draw attention. Actually more than just draw attention because if they made it rainbow it would draw attention to – it’s alarm and as you said, panic. I’ve taken to stop watching news on the main three – 10, 7, 9. Other news channels like the abc and sbs aren’t perfect but they’re much better than the sensationalists of the main three. Everything’s “breaking news”.
@Wolfferoni Exactly, same here, stop watching free TV. And most people I talk to, say the same. The best concise and actual reporting news that l found is the ABC.

I hate Ted. I signed up when it used to be constructive speeches about tech or social themes but now it’s just some sjw or ‘think outside the box, be a good hipster’ thing.

I like the idea. But, reframing perceptions using technology removes the friction that humans need, to understand what is going on.
Suggestive technology is no better than cognitive bias.
I believe her intention is to find a way to get us out of these echochambers of reenforcing our own existing ideas, to give us back this friction and get people to allow their ideas and opinions to be challenged again
