On a mission to create a hunger-free world, agricultural entrepreneur Cedric Habiyaremye makes the case for cultivating quinoa — and other versatile, nutrient-rich grains — in places experiencing malnutrition, like his native Rwanda. He shares a model to help smallholder farmers across Africa diversify their fields with nutritious and indigenous crops, taking a step towards ensuring healthy foods are available and affordable for all.

Thank you!
Quinoa is amazing, but there is going to be some naysayer who says it’s bad for the environment. We need to solve world hunger! Nobody should be hungry.
Thank you @Priscilla!
World hunger is certainly a top priority for humanity, but I would also say the environment is important too. Without biodiversity food security is definitely threatened and on top of that, climate change is responsible for increasingly adverse farming conditions. It doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive, we can solve world hunger and prevent environmental damage of we are smart about how we do it. Producing food at an unsustainable cost to the environment is only moving misery down the line.
Also, awesome work Cedric!
