This man is speaking straight facts.
Slavery didn’t end because of technology. After slavery ended cotton continued to be hand-picked on the plantations and picking didn’t start to be mechanised until after the 1920’s in the USA. The Cotton Gin had been invented earlier in the USA in 1793, this labour-saving device increased production and actually led to more slaves being used on plantations as cotton production boomed in the southern states. Likewise the first mechanised sugar cane cutters were in the USA in 1938 until then harvesting was by hand.. He said you can quit oppressing people because of oil and mechanisation. The ending of slavery had nothing to do with oil or mechanisation.

If we can define ourselves as being humble and forgiving, help others develop ways of thinking that allow them to become more humble and forgiving so that we have a society that can be described as both humble and forgiving, then we will have left the world a better place for our descendants. All this happens through right relationships with one another and in knowing your own self as well.

There are a lot of people who need to learn to forgive others in today’s world especially for misunderstandings and mistakes.
It might disagree with you and think you are wrong but this doesn’t mean that we don’t have any discussion or exchange about it.
Three words: humility, responsibility, and forgiveness. And be very careful with forgiveness because too much of it becomes permissiveness.
Slavery didn’t go away. It was modernized. That undermines this entire presentation.
The imminent presence of lab grown meat is no excuse to not save hundreds of lives today with plant based meats.
