Racism can be overcome.. but not if we continue to identity with our unchosen differences instead of unite around chosen similarities. Racism ultimately stems from fear of the unknown and lack of trust in our own selves. Determinism and a lack of understanding of free will leads a person to jump to conclusions about another individual.. and make irrational judgements of that person based on characteristics such as skin color or biological lineage etc. #Objectivism is the only moral philosophy I’ve found yet that actually defends all individuals, regardless of supposed “race.”

A bit like 1 in 4 children growing up in poverty back in the US. And its just… Accepted as normal. Clawing yourself out of absolute depravity is just part of the american dreeeeeeam.
Every time I go to the US, there is always somebody that comes up to me and it seems everybody has a story. As if they are rehearsing to play the lead role in the movie about their own lives. -Whats your story, they say. Then they proceed to tell me how they came up from absolute rock bottom poverty without access to healthcare, proper education or housing. And then they say stuff like “And now I make six figures, six figures, man” With such PRIDE. And how blessed they are for having come through that. Only in america, only in america could my journey be possible, they say.
I used to say stuff like, well, youknow… These things are really not what other countries struggle with. But I have since learned that you cannot get between an american and his opportunity to wave the flag.
See. The difference between poverty in the US and third world poverty is that Americas poor are surrounded by tall buildings, fancy cars, all those potential riches that they will never take part in. There is this sense that any day now, any time soon, its gonna be MY time to shine.
Its like BEING american is to have a lottery ticket. And so even americas poorest dont want to tear down the system and build something new, modern and good for all. Because then their lottery ticket is suddenly worthless and it will never be their time to have it all. They will just be… Normal. Average citizens.
This is why Idol, X-Factor and these talent shows on TV are the most popular shows on TV. Because they get to see average people making it big over night. And they get to vote and take some ownership of their success. Their journey. Their story.
@Janusha While I can appreciate your comment, it seems that you may have misunderstood my initial comments… I am completely against any kind of caste system/classification/class system that impedes the life course of any person in the world. Relegating individuals to any class/position, etc., is also slavery.

Kendi is right. White people adopt non whites as status symbols, and to escape the accusation or shame of being white.
While I agree that there is a multitude of ‘trending virtue signalling’ in this present, global insanity, it is plausibly(not just possibly) incorrect for one to assume/imply, state out-right, that Justice Coney -Barrett and other adoptive parents have adopted children of other races as a way to relieve (insert race here) guilt. Love and the desire to relieve suffering were most likely the basis for their decision(s) to adopt. People of all races have adopted children of other races, whether tangibly/physically/legally or intangibly, e.g., spiritually.

You reckon. What evidence have you to believe that they adopted to virtue signal and escape the shame of being white. What does that even mean, there is no shame in being white.

Excellent point ♥ Many of us in the world are of ‘mixed race’ ♥From a medical/forensic standpoint, every person is classified by their dental plates, Mongoloid, Negroid, Caucasoid, and most of are at least 2 or more of those, thus, all of the arguments about race are a moot point.
