Every year the silicon computer chip diminishes in size by half and doubles in power, enabling our gadgets to become more mobile and accessible. However what takes place when our chips cannot get any smaller sized? George Tulevski researches the hidden and untapped world of nanomaterials. His existing work: establishing chemical procedures to oblige billions of carbon nanotubes to assemble themselves into the patterns had to construct circuits, much the same method natural organisms develop complex, varied and sophisticated structures. Could they hold the secret to the next generation of computing?
