@Pack Guar How does one prove that a specific race is more _likely_ to be stopped in traffic by police VS simply just recognising the fact that more people from that race were stopped? Those two are _not_ the same thing at all.

It is obvious that unfairness is happening, but to really say that there is a problem, then you need to compare the overall facts between different groups. Also could it be, that there are other reasons to why some groups are more exposed to policeviolence, other than share racism, which of course is not okay. A more brought explaination and understanding on why things are happening. So it is possible to change things instead of just saying “racism”. Most things are “grey” and not black and white.
Lastly I honestly hope that things will get better. But this is a complex problem with so many different variations.
@Pack Guar Your first “fact” is easily debunked since you are not adjusting for prior convictions and other charges. For example, if you’re arrested for armed robbery and have marijuana on you, you will be charged for that as well.
If we truly fighting for justice, we should start in our own communities and STOP hurting and killing each other, ..before we start blaming other races ..

White victims 3,499 white offenders 2,854 black offenders 533.
Black victims 2,870 black offenders 2,570 white offenders 243.

@T McDowell you can put $50 Trillion dollars into school systems and it will not make a difference. Education starts AT HOME!!! I live in one of the poorest counties in NC. They have pumped millions of dollars into the public school systems over the decades and absolutely NOTHING has changed! Same old test scores, same old end of year test results, same old graduation rates. If the parents are not involved fully and care about their child’s education then nothing will ever change!
I don’t like when people presume intentions. It’s an immediate turn-off.

None of this guilt ridden chest beating is going to yield anything. Only the acknowledgement of the scientific validity of IQ when it comes to large groups of people will yield any progress.
Let’s say there are 3 races: X, Y and Z. In year 1, race X commits more crimes than Y and Z. This does not in any way prove that race X is more _likely_ to be arrested for crimes, nor that race X is more likely to _commit_ crimes, the only thing it shows is that in year 1, race X committed more crimes – that’s it. Proving _why_ they rank higher is very difficult. At the end of the day, naturally, one race will always feature higher than the others but correlation doesn’t always mean causation. To fight racism we need to point the finger at _specific_ instances of racism and use evidence to shut it down, not just throw blanket statements out there.

So, let’s say there are 5 races; X, Y, W, Q and Z.
If race X is accountable for 12,500 murders per year and ALL of the other races for 3,500 per year, is that still not a good enough proof for you? Or at least a clear indication for you, that SOMETHING is wrong with race X?
If race X commits almost as much crimes per year than all other races COMBINED, is that still not a good enough proof for you? Or at least a clear indication for you, that SOMETHING is wrong with race X?
If over 65%, almost 70% of individuals of race X have a criminal record, is that still not a good enough proof for you? Or at least a clear indication for you, that SOMETHING is wrong with race X?
And then I am labeled as ”racist” when I point out these facts and educate other people or when I use these facts to prove a point in an ”argument” such as this one? Really?

@Lorenz Specht but it is not societies place to provide everyone with the tools they need to succeed. That is up to the individual entirely. Do some people have easier access paths through life? Absolutely! But that in itself is just ….LIFE. There is no “fair” in the real world

In your example, we all already know thatsomething is wrong with X.
But we don’t know why.
If we know why, we can go against it.
If we just stay with “X is Bad, because X does that” without questioning why X is Bad so we can either Help or Destroy X (or whatever makes X Bad), we won’t go anywhere.
The effort should be on working to be humans first..racism itself is a catch 22.. a trap. This is why MLK said stop with the color…
1st you gotta improve yourself. 2nd if its about any one people for any reason (because it is NOT Systemic…) then its not truly fighting racism..
And if you are ignoring it for ANY Race regardless of dominance etc then that is also racist. You will not defeat the fallacy by being racist or attacking another race in the process..you will just drag it out.. and in fact make people MORE racist. At what point do the efforts to stem a problem becomes the energy that sustains a self perpetuating system?
my first answer would be.. ya know ‘Not laying down acts of racism against others, while accusing them of things that just can never be proven even exist or even that the people you accuse are even apart of it if it does exist.’
Though, on the back of a murdered black person.. 2 dozen more have died under the name of BLM protests & riots, absurd amounts of money have been lost by private small businesses and countless businesses destroyed after already being strained by a pandemic restriction set of rules.
The problem is that officers are people, and personal bias against one group of people (literal self made group & not color based) isn’t racism, nor is personal bias against one person, but it is given the racist name w/o any context of a officers illegal action or reasonings or past dealings with the person that he abused.
— saying the cop was wrong & murdered someone, but because of their personal history with said person and not because said person was black & the cop white.
The cop was wrong to murder that black man, but flat out… BLM is wrong for protests & riots that not only have ended in the deaths of nearly 2 dozen people, but left widows morning, communities shattered, people homeless, & opened up the door for gangs to take advantage of the additional strain on police and do things without restraint.
Yep, good. we can defund the police.. and suddenly without a police force let criminals run rampent, so the poor & middle class get revenged.. as the rich will always have security companies at their payroll.
A professor was recently suspended because he refused to grant black students extra points because they might be traumatized over the death of George floyd. This is insanity. Blm and social justice is a cult.

Glad I tuned in. I like the idea of “the bill is coming due” and definitely defunding the paramilitarized police force. Now, that gives me hope of seeing change.
