I am not an individual. When someone that looks like me succeeds or fails, I deeply care because it is important that people that look like me succeed and do not fail. But I am not racist.
The fact that a mutlicultural/multiracial audience all felt the same emotions about CRA proves it doesn’t matter what types of people are on screen, all that matters is good art.
yup just like watching movies about talking animals not about representation at all all humans can relate.
When CRA came out, I, as an Asian American, was hesitant to watch it. But my sister saw it and loved it. My mom saw it and loved it. So I figured, why not give it a try. And I LOVE it. NOT because it was an all-Asian cast. But because of the story. If you haven’t seen it, then you should. It’s not a story about race, but about class. That was what I was so hesitant about. And that turned out to be the reason that I loved it.
If it doesn’t matter then it won’t be a problem if we start casting more people of color right?
crazy rich asians was a lame rom com that wasn’t even funny. Just because it had only Asians did not make it good.
