Bob Roth is an executive director of the David Lynch Foundation. Here Bob answers a common question people have. Is Transcendental Meditation a Religion?
Transcript:
People ask me all the time is Transcendental Meditation a religion? The answer is no, there is nothing to believe in, there is no philosophy, there is no outlook on life. Transcendental Meditation is just a simple technique that any human being can practice just as well as any other human being. I myself have taught clergy of all religions. I am Jewish. I am not Hindu. I am not Buddhist. I was Jewish before I started Transcendental Meditation forty years ago. I appreciate and love my religion more now than I ever did before, and that is the experience. Transcendental Meditation is a technique that allows any human being to dive within and experience their own inner unbounded energy, creativity and intelligence, and then bring this energy, creativity and intelligence back out into their lives. So whatever religion they are, whatever outlook on life they have they are just more themselves.
