I would be interested to know how claimed channelers allegedly developed the capacity to communicate with the dead. Did it happen after someone close to them passed away and they had difficulty coping? Did they start out with ouija boards / tarot cards and develop from there? Do channelers attempt to contact deceased pirate to pinpoint the locations of their buried treasures? Is there real world application to this alleged form of spiritualism?
