They’re sending in the army this weekend – some of the newspapers suggested they would have live rounds and could shoot if someone’s life was threatened. However someone I know, spoke to someone in the army being assigned to Paris – they don’t want to be there. They don’t even have the gear (shields, knee pads, elbow pads etc. etc. like the riot police), so they’re ill-equipped. They also said their guns will be empty, and they’re just a visual deterrent.
To me, it seems the “non-lethal” weapons already being deployed are more than dangerous enough!

As a French citizen living very far from Paris, I can tell you even for me it’s hard to comprehend the true importance of what’s been happening for 19 weeks now.
People are fed up being ruled by a proverbial handful of obscenely rich oligarchs, corpotatists, politicians who are seemingly hellbent on sending however many “refugees” they can our way, and slowly but surely, replace us and our secular culture with modern slaves from the “third world” willing to work for garbage wages and not ask embarrassing questions, not to mention rewritting history and needlessly shaming french people for whatever reason (feminism/colonialism, white guilt you name it…).
At the moment, as more and more people are being radicalized for lack of other options, it’s only a matter of time before we see the emergence of a martyr or several, and if and when that happens, it will only add more gasoline to the fire…
Where it will lead us I cannot tell, but one thing is certain, they might downplay it all day everyday, but anger is rising among the popular masses, and for better or for worse, we’ll see it through to the conclusion.
