4 big ideas for you on how to avoid being overwhelmed:

Start your day organized. Randomness is the mother of overwhelm. Don't just wake up and plunge into the inbox, which starts your day in reaction versus strategy. Wake, and before responding to anyone, plan the day ahead. Know what you will focus on and you’ll feel more purposeful.

Transition well. Take time to transition from one project to another. Create time in between things to reset and to set an intention and timeline for the next activity. No matter how awesome you are, your brain needs a break to bring back full focus and creativity. Take a nap, meditate or go on a short walk between major activities.

Catch up. At the end of each day, give yourself time to catch up on all the important things that need to be closed before bedtime. Try a 30-minute catchup period right before or after dinner and make that time law – no matter what that's your time to catch up and your family should know about it.

Be more mindful. Develop the ability to deal with uncertainty and unforeseen chaos by meeting them with full awareness and choice to be the best you can be. Look, life doesn't get any more peaceful if you don't. Ask, "How can I meet the demands on my plate from a place of peace and enthusiasm? How can I be grateful for what is put before me because I know it's helping me grow."

Stick to these 4 things and the more you experience #TheChargedLife.

  1. Most of things mentioned in the video,I already do.
Good to know that what I’m doing is right.
Still need to get around saying no to people.
But Sir,Thank you so much for posting these awesome selfless videos!

  2. I have an important exam today and tomorrow.I’m super overwhelmed and I’d like to thank you for this video.I understood my mistakes. When I’m studying, I always try to study for both and I can’t seem to concentrate because of the other fun events that will happen when everything is over. It’s supposed to be my motivation but instead of that, I’m always overwhelmed and trying to do everything really quickly.I’ll take the exam today and probably fail, but maybe I can work hard for tomorrow’s exam.Again, thanks for this video. It helped a lot.

  3. What I do is meditate first thing in the morning and that allows me to go throughout my day with awareness. I observe my thoughts and then I have more control over my state. Great video Brendon.

  4. Just when I was feeling overwhelmed your video arrived! Thanks- it was just what I needed. I had just completed a webinar and was feeling overwhelmed about all that I was going to need to do to accomplish my outcome. So after listening to your video, I realized I just needed to stop, organize, and break down all the tasks into manageable chunks. I love the tips on transitioning and saving catch up time at the end of the day. I am off to make my day productive!!

  5. Thanks Brendon. Never allowed myself to get overwhelmed at work.. different story with kids though. Any advice for a mom with two kids (2,5 years and 6 months old) whose husband works out of town and comes home only for weekends? I do plan the day in the morning and meditate at night when the kids are in bed but there’s so much going on in-between

  6. Extraordinary video! Thank you so much, Brendon. I especially loved the last part where you reminded us to be calm amidst the storm, to show others we are capable of overcoming any obstacle with grace, strength, and peace.

  7. Brendon’s videos are always so full of valuable insights! He’s one of my role models.
Also, I’m trying to make videos on personal growth on my channel. I would really appreciate it if you guys check them out and subscribe.

  8. I do the work of Graphic Designing and inputting texts. People come and say, “Please do this for me right now. It’s so urgent.” Some are going to leave the place and Some have events right next day. So, they have no choice but insist me to finish it immediately. Some are the customers who are really in hurry and emergency. Some are elderly people coming from far away whom I can’t ask to come later as they are too old and weak to visit me frequently. Some are my old clients. Some are my relatives or friends who are asking me for their first favour ever. On the other hand, I have already deadlines. In such situation, I end up getting too overwhelmed and burnout. As a result, I complete nothing.

P.S.: The text I input are mostly religious texts and are mostly published for free distribution by my clients and customers. So, I can’t just think only about getting money from them. Aged people come and request to do works at low price as they don’t have good source of income at old age. So, it’s not like I’m earning a lot while I’m too busy all the time.

Hoping to get out of this situation gradually.

Has anything changed since? And may I ask what kind of religious texts? Stay encouraged. God blessed you with many gifts and talents and a compassionate heart for people. May you get the needed rest and time to refresh and be restored.

  9. I thought you kept asking “What do I need Ketchup on?” But now I see you were saying “What do I need to catch up on?” : )

  10. Many confused ideas … and the *demeanour* shows it …. you *don’t* “bring creativity” to anything. Assuming you are really quiet, and not always pushing some quirky plans (the ego’s stronghold), creativity will show up … you can never get it to come on demand. For that we have the lies of politicians and other confused nachalniks ….
