  1. You are spot on with all of those topics! You have said these things very very well! I’m right there with you on all of it!

  2. Your humble opinion…is genius. We all know this! We know it to be true, thank you for bringing it into the open. Sometimes we need to hear it in order to face it.

  3. Dani I’m one of those people that agree with you 100%. In my personal opinion I feel that you have a real good Insight on this subject. Thank you very much for sharing you inspire me and you help me

  4. Well said! I spent much of my 20’s and 30’s obsessed with being a certain size and trying every diet to help reach some “ideal size.” What I know in my 40’s is that health/nutrition HAS to work for me in order for it to be sustainable. It is about honoring and trusting what is best for my body…great video and love your channel!

  5. Good information Dani. Thanks for sharing. I’ve constantly done strict short term diets to lose weight, but I’ve never kept it off. This video really helps to get better perspective. Thanks.

  6. What if your mind is broken in its relationship to food? I use food as comfort. Portion control is something I constantly battle since my mind knows I am eating too much and yet…Sad…eat! Angry….eat! Lonely….eat!

    • Your mind is not broken. Using food to ease uncomfortable emotions is common (because it works…. in the short term). There is noting wrong with you. IF and when you want to practice changing this habit, the practice is not about food. The practice is in learning how to be with uncomfortable emotions…. and opening up to what they are there to teach you. BUT I PROMISE YOU…. THERE IS NOTHING BROKEN ABOUT YOU.

  7. Thank you for clearifying some things, I see where you are coming from! For instance, I am vegetarian but for me it does not feel like I am cutting off something from my diet, it feels normal and my body and mind feels good too. However, when it comes to other “diet rules” I want to follow, it feels like I am restricting and forcing myself into something I probably would not do if it was not to lose some weight. I gained some weight and the people around me stopped telling me how skinny I am, this makes me want to jump back to those days were I was, therefore I want to diet and see those results again.

  8. I totally understand what u saying and agreed absolutely
Enjoy ur recipes and cooking love to see ur father recipes and cooking

  9. Hi Dani. Thanks for this video. To be honest I was one that didn’t exactly agree with your previous video. I feel like I’m in a very good place right now with my eating habits, and getting there as far as finding an exercise routine that fully meets my needs. However my biggest struggle at home is my husband. He knows he needs to loose weight for medical reasons, it has been a battle for the past 5 years, and the more he feels the pressure to loose weight, the further away he gets from achieving this goal. I have tried several things at home: changed the way I cook, I use way more vegetables and fresh food on our meals, healthy snacks etc. The problem is, he has a nibbling habit, it’s constant, and usually he’ll nibble on bread, sweets and whatever makes him feel good. If we’re eating out and I don’t want to finish my meal, he’ll do it, even though he’s completely satisfied. And every single time he does any of the above mentioned, he feels bad and filled with guilt. It’s a cycle. I have labeled that “self-control” over the years, telling him to listen to his body to see if he’s eating because he’s hungry, or if he’s emotionaly eating. I do understand your clarification though, I can see how discipline can bring a better result other than controling and punishing yourself every time one feels like he/she failed the goal. Thanks a lot for your videos!

    • yes, to everything you have mentioned. The hard part for your hubby is that people will tell him and he may think that this is a food issue… but mostly its not. And thats why its so important that he take the time and allow himself to be where he is so he can try to understand it. WHY the desire to eat all the time? WHY the need to finish your plate? WHY the constant nibble? It all has a reason (and a message) and when e are stay open, we can learn what we are really hungry for. xo

    • Clean & Delicious No problem. On the other hand myself and many other people should b even more grateful for U providing the world with priceless information/knowledge/ and of course recipes. Cant put into words how much u have taught me and helped me . Stay THE BEST! Until next time.

  10. YES YES YES!! I tried for years to be vegan because I thought that lifestyle was what I wanted and who I wanted to become. Then I found the Weston A Price Foundation and Nourishing Traditions book and absolutely fell in love!! It was a lifestyle that fit my personality PERFECTLY!! I thoroughly enjoy every part of and its a joy to stay doing. I come from a lot of food addictions, taco bell and FF being a main one and Im so excited to say that this month it has been 6 months since Ive had any of that stuff and it wasnt done because of will power… it was done because I enjoy this lifestyle so much that I realized I hadnt had that stuff in 2 months and from then I knew better than to go back!! its been amazing and exactly like you are describing!!

  11. This was a great way of explaining the difference! It definitely makes so much sense to me. Thank you for the video it was great advice!
