The future of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy | Rick Doblin

Could psychedelics help us heal from trauma and mental illnesses? Researcher Rick Doblin has spent the past three decades investigating this question, and the results are promising. In this fascinating dive into the science of psychedelics, he explains how drugs like LSD, psilocybin and MDMA affect your brain — and shows how, when paired with psychotherapy, they could change the way we treat PTSD, depression, substance abuse and more.

  1. Amazing!!! Did this treatment by myself for a long time and I can definitely tell the difference in a very possible way. Indeed psychedelics are a tool to reach the deepest of our emotions and minds. This is inspiring!

  2. Psychedelics can cure PTSD, depression, anxiety and other illness. The range of these drugs are huge, the way they affect the brain in different ways is amazing. When taken LSD (acid) the brain lights up, similar to a child’s brain. Scans show this. Extasy is used specially for PTSD with phyco therapy. So is ketamine.

  3. took LSD in the most difficult times and it healed my life up.
indeed that desicion is one of the greatest I could ever make

    • I feel the exact same way about Marijuana. Only been smoking for a few years but it’s helped me more than any prescription drug

    • @musstakrakish same. Been a year for me and during this year I’ve made some of the most important changes I’ve made in my life for the better regarding my health and wellbeing

    • @Plague Not sure where you’re from, but check out hippie concerts. Especially Phish, String Cheese Incident, Bob Weir etc. The crowds there will usually have good psychedelics, and you can make a connection that way. That’s how I’ve done it over the years.

    • I’ve been taking 1500mg per 30ml and nothing is happening! I’ve taken under the tongue and vaped and still not feeling much better?

    • @L4WNY Try to mix it with some THC. Everyone’s physiology is different, so dosages will vary person to person. But the CBD will activate better with even a tiny amount of THC involved. It’s incredible.

    • L4WNY Smoke a tiny bowl. Seriously, there are hundreds of cannabinoids all with varying effects on our own cannabinoid system. Extracting and using only THC or CBD is not really a good idea. THC’s harmful effects appear to be mitigated by the use of CBD in conjunction with use of THC.

    • @TrippingInDenver Yeah a friend said she’s gonna get me some with more THC in it. I got it originally for back pain and anxiety. Cheers for all the advice

  4. Thank you, thank you so much for your great work, Rick! You are instrumental in Humanity’s progress towards Righteousness. This is evidence of our increasing victory over Evil.

  5. This has definitely changed my perspective on drugs. It’s not necessarily bad but rather substance abuse and misuse that gives it a bad rep.

    • Yeah, drugs really aren’t “bad” by themselves. But if misused like any drugs, they can wreak havoc on a person’s mind and body, and of course communities suffering from too much poverty. The key is education and making sure the parameters are set for people to take these substances in safe settings at doses they can handle. 🙂

    • Sabrina .C So many people could learn from your comment. If everyone had the same revelation ,we could change the world for the better.

    • Sabrina .C , Your perspective will always change every time someone tells you something because you’re a sheeple (sheep like) people. Try thinking for yourself all the time. Am I being to harsh and judgmental?

  6. Aha so this is the man who began MAPS, what an impressive and articulate talk. Wish more people were willing to at least just listen to this…
