Nuclear energy has a really bad stipulation, even though it is the safest “green” energy (depending on definition of course). Over 1,000 works die in the coal industry alone each year, where as in nuclear energy, only 7 a year. @Donnally Caia Thomas Given She analyzes the problem from the perspective of racial and social unfairness without considering the whole picture, including our obsession for consumption, growth and technological efficiency. You can’t just look at the beginning of the production chain (extraction, pollution,…) and blame big corporations and governments for it without looking at what’s at the end of the production, people like us and our inconsiderate levels of consumption. There’s a LIFESTYLE to renounce to, when are we going to speak about it in the context of climate militancy?

I disagree with this only in the fact that we CANNOT absolve cooperations and governments from their responsibilities. We can start it but we need the systems to change.
Not absolve them, but definitely shouldn’t be relying solely on them to change their practices and policies for the better. It’s simply not how they function nor gain improved responsibility.
People have no idea how much we manipulate the weather lol. Especially in USA. Then people wonder why the weather acts wild.

The new marching orders are to stop telling people about the next imagined global warming catastrophe because people don’t believe in the narrative because the so called experts have cried Wolf too many times since 1986 about allll the doomsday scenarios that are going to play out.
In the end, predictions are NOT science.
Computer models are NOT proper experimentation.
And science is not a religion to follow blindly.
We don’t have to save the planet… We have to save ourself of what the planet will do to us if we don’t stop the damage

Well, not everyone rise up when they have enough. Some of them simply leave or wait for someone to rise up. North Korean for example. Many also simply accept the fate and walk down the cliff. That’s why if you gotta do it, don’t do it in a way that rely on those people.
