SUMMARY:
——————–

Should you have a plan B, an alternate plan, if you decide to go for it and chase a new dream?

Absolutely YES. But there are a few things to think about.

1. If you have a low risk tolerance, transition slowly.

2. Don't think you have to do just one thing.

3. Leverage others to minimize the risk.

4. Commit.

    • +enJoy I think it’s easy. Its just the people who get into a field of psychology to fulfill their ago tend to come up with complexities to make themselves feel important. To me complexity is an enemy of execution. Happiness is easy, whats hard is to master your mind.

      Sending love to you!

  1. I think this is practical because many people including myself are working a full time job while building a business. While “burning the bridges” can be a good thing I think it depends on the person and transitioning slowly can be powerful. Having a full time job allows me to invest money into what I’m doing which can speeded up the process anyways. Great video Brendon.

    • +Aaron Doughty I agree! Even though I hate my job and have had it way too long, it has given me income to feed my business. So even though it’s a dead end job, it will help me be able to achieve my goals and get out of there.

  2. I am now going to University and I realised I don’t like what I am studying now. I got all depressed and now I have an idea of what I want to persuade in my life. The problem is that I got a huge debt from the government to pay my studies and my mind is telling me that all that money can’t go to waste:/ I don’t know what to do so this helps a bit. Did you guys also have this kind of problems?

    • Yep, I thought the same thing and I wound up graduating with a degree in Psychology and I have been at a very nice full time job for almost 2 years, but I can’t stand it any longer b/c I figured out my senior year I wanted to do something else- and I didn’t. Now that I know this, I plan on going back to school for the thing I love doing…I have to definitely take this mans’ advice about going slow though, b/c I already dug myself in deep here. I decided change would be worth it in the end, but it took this amount time for me to realize it.

    • +hakuna matata I hear your loss of direction in life. With it might also come a gift. I wonder what was it that you invited a realization of not wanting to go to school anymore? What are you gaining, escaping, or seeking?

You mentioned “got all depressed” – you are using a very powerful language but also very accurate. It shows that you have the power within you to make the change happen because you acknowledged that you made yourself depressed with your thoughts, patterns and feeling of helplessness. You can get yourself out of it. When now would be a good time?

GO for a 30 min walk everyday for the next week, and come up with at lest 3 things you grateful for in your life and also very cray things you could do if money, time, skills – were not an issue.

Love to hear more about you.

    • +Arthur Cravan ,Brendon helped me with this problem. I understood that isn’t really about a plan that you should have in case things go wrong. The B plan helps you with financial resources until you can make money from your vocation. That’s why now i am excited about going to college. It’s not what i want to do, but i find some interesting things there and this will calm my parents. And maybe i can work during college . Certain is that i will become what i want, i feel it , can’t live without it. Even though i’m a beginner now, i’m willing to work. Brief: you have to be stubborn about your goal and flexible about the methods.

    • +Jam BB hey jam, right know Iam studying at university, its the most useless thing ever, in these 4 months Iam going to work really hard(with my own business) and prove to mom that I dont need university to ACOMPLISH something, the PLAN B is a bad thing. because you are in your comfort zone you know. WHEN YOU HAVE ONLY 1 WAY, 1 PLAN IT WILL eventually work out, BUT if it doesnt, YOU STILL WIN!, because that EXPERIENCE will give you soo much wisdom. and you will be ready. I had same thing, I will start business while studying. that school is taking me so MUCH time and thoughts and energy, there is no way Iam going to finish it. only because its useless. so many ways in this world to make a living. and school is not that way. When we finish school you will not have guarantee the job, and not even experience.

    • +Sun wei yup, the thing is that my parents won’t let me do what i want without attending university at the same time. But i’m going to figure it out, to be present and to focus at on this moment, believing that i will make it. Thanks for replying to me. ^^

  3. Great advice!
    I love your videos Brendon!

I was wondering you can do a behind the scene video of how you prepare for videos and how you make them so professional? 🙂

  4. Super cool advice, I think there’s something here for everyone to apply in some part of their lives. But DAMN that background music gets me EVERY time! Almost as motivating and inspiring as the content. Keep going and keep growing everyone 🙂
