  1. Sadly I’m over exercising. This video honestly motivates me to take a rest and figure out what I want to do, I love strength training/lifting weights and building muscle, however I never only focus on that because I have this feeling that I haven’t had a “proper” workout if I don’t have my heart rate up. I know what I need to do, but I can’t get myself to try new things… I’m scared that I won’t be challenged enough . are there any suggestions you have Dani? Thank you very much and I hope you enjoy your summer 🙂

  2. I was really committed to exercise a year ago and what really locked me in was doing DDP Yoga. I stopped for whatever reason. But I also started doing a property inspection job that had me out everyday walking through properties walking around properties up and down the stairs in the properties. I got a Fitbit turned out that I was walking roughly 5 to 8,000 steps a day and I always hit my stair goal obviously going up and down stairs in the properties. Well this isn’t traditional exercise I certainly feel like it’s a lot of movement and I’ve actually found more weight loss in watching what I ate then how much I exercised. but these are definitely some good tips you certainly have to find what works for you and get you out there and get you going so I feel like this new job is it’s definitely giving me some exercise however I’m going to go back to yoga as well because yoga is awesome. thanks for another awesome video Dani.

  3. great video. I’ve read the book and I’m working on the workbook. I truly HATE exercise and this was the hardest chapter for me to Grasp. I can say that I have enjoyed Cardio Drumming in the past and I lead a group at my church. we took off the month of July because of scheduling issues but we start next Tuesday. I pray that I can wrap my head around it. I don’t mind walking but my physical therapist told me not to do the treadmill because of my knee problems. I like the elliptical the most and pushed myself up to 45 min. for the calorie payoff. I hope to get back to the gym soon and try this new mentality. thank you for another great video that helps me understand this process better.

  4. I do the walk on and walk strong DVD programs by jessica Smith. It’s a combo of aerobics, pilates, yoga, kickboxing, strength training, and dance. She also has a free YouTube channel (Jessicasmithtv)

  5. Water aerobics is my favorite. This is the only consistent form of exercise I have ever stuck with. I started because of my joints but soon learned that I loved it. I then took a deep water class along with my water aerobics and fell more in love. If you find something that you love to do you will stick with it. It works!!

  6. I am not a fan of exercising. Never was. But within the last few years, I enjoy zumba, yoga, spinning and water aerobics. The thing that I struggle the most at, is weight lifting for toning. I never understood it. Never will, but trying to stick at it as I do too much Cardio. Tx for your inspiring videos.

  7. I have been struggling with motivation for a long time now and did have that love of exercising at one time. Thank you for these tips…

  8. Thanks so much for the encouragement! My doctor always tells me that I should be doing 150 minutes of intense exercise each week to have health benefits. I have never been able to exercise like that without injuries, but since I have had chemo, I just don’t have the stamina to pull that off. So, I just gave up on doing anything. Since reading the IE book and watching this series, I am changing my perspective and focusing on what makes me feel better. Moving definitely improves me both mentally and physically, but I don’t have to beat myself up because I’m not a beach babe or marathoner! Connie

  9. I think what I struggle with isn’t just the motivation but also the fear of the pain that tends to come with me working out (I have chronic joint pains that get worse with certain types of exercise). I will be trying yoga next as a flexibility, core and balance help and hope the extra walking I’ll be doing traveling to and from college will help cardio.

Things I used to love no longer work. So I have to find something new with low impact that isn’t as boring as the exercises I got from the physiotherapist. Just them bore me badly.

  10. Very good video as always. People tend to take an extreme approach to exercise to their own detriment most of the time. I do a high intensity HIIT training routine but I only do it three times a week. If you really train hard enough when you do train you shouldn’t do it every day. If you train too much too frequently your body will actually produce too much of the hormone cortisol which will block maximum weight loss and muscle gain. Your central nervous system can only handle so much. Too much of a good thing equal a bad thing in most cases.

  11. thank you! I’ve been doing keto and it is suggested to do HIIT and it has been weeks that I’ve avoided starting because it sounds too aggressive for me right now…not never but not now. Thanks for the encouragement to be more kind to myself

  12. Wow! Great advice! I was wondering about this video. I have a physical disability that greatly limits mobility. I have chronic Costochondritis and any movement makes my my ribs muscles enflamed to the point severe pain and making it difficult to breathe. I used to go to the gym, bike ride, take walks and swim. Now I can’t really do any of it. However, I am trying to do what I can. For example, I can walk a round my house. I’ll be in some pain and discomfort but I can bare it. This video is inspiring me to try to come up with methods to how I can increase activities within the limits of my disability without causing further harm. If you can think of anything let me know! Great video as usual Dani!
