Is Meat Bad For The Environment?

Robb Wolf and Diana Rodgers join me on The Doctor’s Farmacy to talk about the methane and the differences between conventionally raised cattle and those that are holistically managed and raised on grass. Robb also share some interesting facts about methane from other natural populations of species, from shellfish to moose. Methane is, unfortunately, a huge problem when it comes to conventional animal feeding operations, but when it comes to regenerative-beef, it’s a different story.

Robb Wolf, a former research biochemist, is the two-time New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Paleo Solution and Wired to Eat. Robb is the co-founder of The Healthy Rebellion, a social movement with the goal of liberating 1 million people from the sick-care system. Robb is the executive producer of the film Sacred Cow.

Diana Rodgers, RD, is a “real food” nutritionist living on a working organic farm near Boston, Massachusetts. She’s an author, runs a clinical nutrition practice, hosts the Sustainable Dish Podcast, and is an advisory board member of Animal Welfare Approved and Savory Institute. Her new book, Sacred Cow: The Case For Better Meat, just launched, and the Sacred Cow film she directed and produced will be out later this summer.

  1. Meat eating like beef, mutton, pork, broiler chicken should be completely banned for the good of the populace.

    • Folks, Our brains didn’t evolve to their size and complexity eating green beans and asparagus… the amount of energy and raw resources needed to get to where we are today is derived from animal products. Excess carbs, sugar and processed foods are the real enemy. A balanced and INDIVIDUAL approach to nutrition is key. Some folks do better with a high plant based diet, others with LOTS of meat and healthy fats. That being said, know your body and know your food- it’s hard to do either extreme well due to the potential for having missing nutrients from your food (and how that interacts with your particular genome and environment is key).

  2. Good Good, Regenerative agriculture saving the planet….

Taking my 93 kilos by 6″6 bum ( used to be 125kg when eating addictive carbs) to walk for 30 minutes to farmers market now… buy some grass fed/finished fresh liver ( they had none for last 2 weeks cause, I quote “they didn’t feel like it was the right moment for the animal to go, and they always respect and never stress or force things” )
Also grabbing some raw milk, raw cheese, bone marrow, and 91 days natural pastured eggs, chicken hearts, and will boar and marrow sausages.
    ❤️

    • Everything that is on the surface of earth right now is part of the environment… but not everything is beneficial for it.
You have a twisted way of reasoning that makes no sense… would you defend a tumor because it’s “part of the body” in the same manner?
