We can’t be perfect parents. There is always going to be some form of miscommunication, some misunderstanding, something that causes pain. The key to successful parenting is to make the time to address these challenges, and to listen with an open heart and mind.
My guest on this week’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, Dr. Shefali Tsabary, is a clinical psychologist, an international speaker and wisdom teacher, and she’s written two bestselling books, The Conscious Parent and The Awakened Family. In this episode, we dive into parenting and family dynamics. I personally have seen a lot of trauma from family dynamics manifest into physical illness, especially the relationship between child and parent. Dr. Shefali challenges traditional family roles, and encourages us to rethink the way we raise our kids. How can we let go of the toxic expectations that stand in the way of real, authentic, and loving relationships?

Thanks Dr Hyman. Another great show.
I love Dr. Shefali and have read all of her material. I have a 2.5 year old girl and work everyday to be more conscious of myself and of her needs. It’s is definitely an ‘endeavour’ but that is life. Thank you for this wonderful talk and interview Dr. Hyman.
WOW. What a interesting dialogue and thank you for opening up your life to help us understand this better. You have some of the best interviews. Thank you for your work
That’s a lovely shirt Mark !
Amazing conversation!
I don’t how old she is but she looks great!! I hope this conversation doesn’t end without him asking her self care routine
I’ve been learning from Dr. Shifali for a couple of years now. She’s definitely changed my life. So grateful you had her on so that her wisdom can be heard by different people. ❤️
Dr Shefali… stupid autocorrect
Thanks Dr Hyman, always great talk, as usual. Come to Australia and visit us!
OMG she described exactly what happened to me. I realized that the I was not the constant bombardment of thoughts. The I was watching and listening. That I is the real me. Meditation really helps you realize that the “monkey mind” constantly is pouring out negative stuff. But we can manage it and then be able to see the real part of ourselves.
