Asking the “where it comes from” isn’t the start. Observing that you are not your thoughts is the start. Cultivating focus and guiding attention is the start. Being truly detached is a product of the work at some point. Braindumping anything on paper and revisiting your loops of thought and most likely negative self talk is the start. There is no shortcut there is no guru and there is no 3 week seminar that will help, they only distract of the work and practice to acquire the skills. Teachers will give their insight, riddles and meditation practice to the individual and can only shoot in the dark and hope to spark something in the apprentice … these are the moments most of the selfhelp zombies get attracted and addicted too … and with that missing the point. The point to build and trust your tools to work with yourself. Most forget that the brain in these situations is most likely like a severally beaten and neglected puppy you have to patiently pour love, attention and acceptance into it to finally cultivate trust in these tools, otherwise the brain will lash out and try to bite and run away grabbing your attention with it.
How many men have walked away from fatherhood, and left children fatherless because they wanted to be true to themselves and not do what is expected of them. There are many views to living a Good Life~!
Your lack of discernment is alarming. Being true to yourself starts with a firm foundation.
There’s no such thing as being true to yourself by wounding others. Bringing a child to this world and abandoning him or her because you don’t feel like being responsible for the life you have procreated is vile and reprehensible.
yes it is, and it happens hundreds of times a day
Amazing encouragement from Jay and Dr H, one of the best!
