Getting older is inevitable, but aging is not. What society thinks of as aging—wrinkly skin, poor memory, weight gain, aches and pains—is actually abnormal aging, and it doesn’t have to be this way. There are reasons for these symptoms, and when we tap into the root cause we can prevent and even reverse them and feel youthful despite our age. We can do that using the principles of Functional Medicine, as well as the power of biohacking our biology.
My guest on this week’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy is an expert in biohacking and reversing the aging process. My good friend Dave Asprey is the founder and CEO of Bulletproof 360, creator of the global phenomenon Bulletproof Coffee, a two-time New York Times bestselling author, the host of the Webby award-winning podcast Bulletproof Radio, serial entrepreneur, and global change agent.
By employing the principles of biohacking (a term added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary in September of 2018 with Dave’s influence) Dave has lost over 100 pounds, upgraded his brain, learned to sleep more efficiently in less time, and become a more effective entrepreneur, husband, father, and overall human being.
In this episode, he shares his top tips and tricks for being superhuman and living to be 180 or beyond. I hope you’ll tune in.
Great info. But, how long. How much does your past diet and lack of fasting affect you going forward. In other words, do you live longer if you start at say 25 vs 60. If so, then how much of an impact can you really have if you wait till 60 or 65. Can you say , if I fast starting at 65, what percentage can you potentially add to your life. Probably too many variables since IR affects everyone differently. And, probably since you started late too many damaged or lack of good healthy cells. I believe I was in ketosis growing up and didn’t eat much except for a 2 and half year period . But from 1 to 18, except that period where my family operated a small store for a short time, I must have been fasting all the time but didn’t know it. I always had a ton of energy but probably was not getting a nutritious diet otherwise since I always seem to have trouble retaining or learning info in school. Trouble in reading and English. Cud have been diet related.
I CAN JUST take a drug which activates a code in the dna that allows fat to be used as energy and increase endurance levels by 50% no matter what size you are
I lost a lot of weight and I’m always hungry
Adnan A drink pretty of plain water.
I intermittent fast without being on Keto Diet, I eat a super foods salad for lunch , maybe sometimes nuts for snack at 2 or 3 pm , then eat a good sized dinner. Nothing after that. Exercise 4 times a week. I’ve been doing this four 4 months and have NEVER felt better!
What are those?!
I feel great when I don’t eat. But, I had blood work done after not eating for 20 hours, and I had some abnormal results. So, now I doubt this advice.
What were your abnormal blood results if I may ask? ☺️
God 2
Chloride was high and carbon dioxide was low. I’ve never had those be outside of the ranges before.
interesting, that really is weird, did you find out why that was the case, did the doctor explain it to you or anything? I never heard that anyone had abnormal results in these
God 2
I have more people/doctors say to me, “ I’ve never heard of that.” No, I had the blood work done the week before surgery. When I asked the doctor if my blood tests were ok, I was told they were fine. They didn’t even mention it. I discovered it after surgery when I asked for a copy. My RDW was high too. Sorry I forgot that one because it was on a different page. Again, I was told everything was fine. I had everything sent to my primary doctor, and she did not say anything about them.
I really want to die
I find fasting 12 hours a Day is better than any diet and helped my depression. Very happy with my results. I did this throughout my pregnancy as well and Baby is healthy and happy.
